Russian teachers working in schools in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan as part of a humanitarian project will be able to return to Russia in the coming days, TASS reports.

The Ministry of Education noted that teachers would arrive home on May 25. Their return was prepared by several departments, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Communications, the Ministry of Transport and other state bodies.

According to Minister of Education Sergei Kravtsov, the safety and health of the teachers remain among the main tasks. He assured that all measures would be taken so that people return home in the safest way possible.

Last year, about 50 Russian teachers worked in schools in Tajikistan, they taught Russian, physics, chemistry, mathematics and other disciplines.

Salaries for teachers come from Russia, and they receive housing from the Tajik authorities, the host also helps with the payment of utility bills. The project has proven its effectiveness and will be continued. It has been implemented since 2017 in Tajikistan and since 2019 in Kyrgyzstan. In total, more than 60 teachers and 11 members of their families work abroad.
