Contest of drawings and crafts on Day of Russian language started in Austria

An online contest of drawings and crafts dedicated to the birthday of Alexander Pushkin and the Day of the Russian Language opened in Austria. Children and adults were offered to create their own projects based on the poet’s works, the Rossotrudnichestvo website reports.

The competition was organized by the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Vienna and the All-Austrian Pedagogical Council. Children from the age of five and adults are invited to participate, the country of residence is not taken into account.

The organizing committee accepts drawings created in any technique, as well as collages, applications, embroideries and crafts, which reveal the plot of the works of Alexander Pushkin, tells about his characters or the personality of the poet himself. On June 1, Internet voting will open, which will determine the winners of the competition. Winners will be announced on Russian Language Day on June 6.

According to the results of the competition, the winners and their teachers will be awarded, all participants will receive certificates. According to the organizers, one of the main goals of the competition is "the development of interest in Russian culture, traditions and customs, art through the works of the genius of Russian and world literature Aleksander Pushkin."
