The Russian Foreign Ministry regretted Washington’s decision to withdraw from the Open Skies Treaty, the agency’s website reports. The treaty is the most important part in European security, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized. At the same time, this deplorable step did not surprise Moscow. It fully complies with the course aimed at destroying the entire complex of agreements in the field of arms control and building confidence in the military field.

At the same time, the US authorities did not pay attention to the interests of their own allies and the views of authoritative experts, the department notes.

The White House repeats the scenario that it tested as part of the withdrawal from the INF Treaty. The main thing, according to Washington, is to blame Russia, trying to hide its own destructive line.

Moscow has repeatedly answered the previous accusations, but this time new ones were voiced. Now Washington believes that Russia uses the information "to target its precision weapons."

Russia is ready for dialogue, but only for equal rights, aimed at mutual consideration of interests and concerns. Washington, in its turn, is set to withdraw from the treaty.

Russia will build its further line regarding the treaty based on the interests of national security, in close cooperation with allies and partners, the Foreign Ministry noted.
