China is ready together with Russia to defend the results of World War II with all its might. Chinese leader Xi Jinping assured President Vladimir Putin of this in a telephone conversation on Friday, May 8, TASS reports. The leaders congratulated each other and the peoples of the two countries on the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory.

China and Russia, as members of the UN Security Council and the victorious states in World War II, are endowed with a special mission, Xi Jinping is convinced. Together we must defend global peace, contribute to the development and progress of mankind. China is determined to defend the world order and international justice, to implement the principles of multilateralism.
