Igor Butman performed at world jazz concert

Russian musicians joined the Worldwide Concert for Our Culture, TASS reports. Traditionally, the World Concert for Our Culture action is conducted by the American association “Jazz at Lincoln Center”. The concert took place on the night of April 16.

Due to restrictive measures aimed at counteracting the spread of coronavirus infection, the concert was held online for the first time in its history.

Russia was represented by the famous jazz musician Igor Butman and his ensemble.

The concert turned into an online music festival, where all jazz lovers had the opportunity to listen to the performances of leading Brazilian, Japanese, Spanish, American, German, Cuban, and Russian performers.

The accordionist from France Richard Galliano, the saxophonist from Italy Stefano Di Battista, the flutist from Pakistan Bakir Abbas, the Brussels jazz band, band performer Hamilton de Holland from Brazil, jazz singer Cecil Maclayan Salivan performed online along with Russian participants in the show. Thet were followed by Chano Dominguez from Spain, Chucho Valdes from Cuba, Makoto Ozone from Japan and Nduduso Mahatini from South Africa.
