Italian doctors praised the help of colleagues from Russia in the fight against COVID-19 in Bergamo, where one of the most serious outbreaks of coronavirus infection on the Apennine Peninsula is located. They call the actions of Russian experts "impeccable," according to RIA Novosti.

Local doctors expressed gratitude to the Russian doctors. Oliviero Valoti, the head of the field hospital in Bergamo, noted that specialists from Russia work “extremely efficiently”. They treat patients in severe condition, and "the work is done flawlessly." This applies to both intensive care physicians and general practitioners.

The head doctor said that until now, Russian doctors have treated severe patients in the intensive care unit, but now they will deal with less serious cases. Volunteer Luca Carnevali notes that working with experts from Russia is very comfortable, "as if they always worked together." He thanked Russia for the delivered medical equipment.

As Russkiy Mir reported, Russia sent modern diagnostics and disinfection equipment, scientists, and doctors to Italy on fifteen planes. Russian military doctors, virologists and epidemiologists are helping their Italian counterparts to resist coronavirus infection. In addition, aircraft with Russian medicines and equipment were sent to Serbia and the United States. Russian specialists work in a number of countries. Ecuador and Sierra Leone turned to Russia for help.
