The Russian authorities will take all necessary measures to evacuate Russian citizens from abroad in connection with the development of coronavirus infection, RIA Novosti reports. According to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexander Grushko, this problem remains under control. He promised to ensure the evacuation of Russians.

The deputy foreign minister also said that Moscow is working to establish the exact number of Russians who remain in countries covered by the coronavirus.

Alexander Grushko expressed the hope that the authorities of all countries will responsibly respond to this issue, given its humanitarian character. According to him, Russia hopes that the states will do everything to ease the situation of people, including Russians, and create conditions so that Moscow can deliver its citizens to their homeland.

Earlier, the Russian authorities imposed a temporary ban on the entry into the country of citizens of other countries and stateless persons. Restrictive measures are aimed at countering the spread of coronavirus infection. They will begin to operate tomorrow, March 18, and will last until the beginning of May.

The day before, passenger flights were limited to all countries of the European Union, as well as to Switzerland and Norway. Charter flights will be organized so that citizens of these countries can return to their homeland.

Previously, air traffic was limited to China, South Korea and Iran.
