Italian chefs have cooked borsch for the Russian military and doctors working in the country. They decided to express their gratitude to specialists from Russia who entered the fight against coronavirus infection in Bergamo, according to the Facebook page of the Lombardy-Russia Association.

It was the first time Italian chefs cooked borsch, they apologized in advance if not everything was ok with their version of the famous Russian soup. “Sorry, this is the first time,” they wrote in Russian on separate cards. The Italians assured that they wanted to surprise the Russians by arranging a small celebration for them.

Russkiy Mir reported that Russian military doctors set to work in Bergamo on April 1. They began to treat those infected with the coronavirus in a temporary hospital. Earlier, Russia sent to Italy modern equipment for diagnostics and disinfection on fifteen planes.

Russian military doctors, virologists and epidemiologists are helping their Italian counterparts to fight the coronavirus infection. Italy is one of the countries most affected by the coronavirus in Europe.
