70% of Russians limited social contacts because of coronavirus

About 70% of Russian residents have limited contact with other people because of the coronavirus pandemic. Such data were presented by the All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion (VTsIOM), which conducted a study of public opinion via a telephone survey, according to RIA Novosti.

The VTsIOM interviewed 1,600 Russian full-aged citizens, the study was conducted at the end of March by telephone, the numbers were randomly selected. The survey showed that about 70% of Russians reduced the number of contacts due to the spread of the coronavirus.

Moreover, in five days between the two polls, the proportion of self-isolated citizens increased by 28%, a March 26 study showed that less than half of the respondents limited their contacts with other people - 42%.

According to VTsIOM data, 61% of Russians reported that they regularly wash their hands and use sanitizers, one fifth of the respondents said they wore medical masks or respirators.

15% of respondents said they protect themselves from the coronavirus by disinfecting and ventilating the premises, 8% of the respondents started taking vitamins and monitor their health. 4% of the study participants admitted that they did nothing to protect against the infection.
