Almost all organized tourists from Russia, who were vacationing abroad, returned to their homeland, TASS reports. Over the past two weeks, about 160,000 people have returned to Russia from more than forty countries.

According to the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Ivan Volynkin, now there are 25,000 Russians left abroad who want to return to Russia, including those that were treated in foreign clinics. The diplomat spoke about this during his speech at a meeting of the international committee of the Federation Council.

He recalled that a crisis situational center operates in the Foreign Ministry. It maintains constant contact with all fellow citizens abroad.

Flights land at the Moscow Sheremetyevo airport daily, despite the fact that no more than five hundred people can be taken in a day. Airports in other regions accept no more than two hundred people.

Russkiy Mir reported that, from March 27, Russia completely stopped air traffic with other countries. From March 30, it restricted the border crossing at automobile, pedestrian, rail, river, and mixed checkpoints. The aim of these measures is to prevent the further spread of coronavirus infection.

Earlier, the head of the Russian government, Mikhail Mishustin, assured that the Russian authorities would not leave their citizens stranded abroad, they would help in returning home.
