Teachers of Australian schools, where children and adults study the Russian language, quickly mastered the methods of distance education and created assignments for students due to the coronavirus pandemic. The employees of the Sydney Central Russian school told the Edinenie newspaper about the difficulties and opportunities of distance education.

At the Central Russian school, Russian is taught to children and adolescents of different ages (from three years old), as well as to adult residents of Sydney. According to the staff of the educational institution, the transition to distance learning took place as fast as possible, it required a lot of effort from teachers and the administration to develop lessons and assignments, as well as to create a schedule.

Teachers told that they used the advice of the Australian Department of Education and Russian specialists who taught their colleagues how to work with students on the Internet and how to prepare interactive lessons and assignments.

Primary school teacher Sofia Dmitrieva said that the first online lesson went well - the teacher and class completed all their plans and talked. She called the new form of work an interesting experience. Teachers thanked the parents of the students for their help in organizing distance learning.
