Documentary to picture Russians’ fight against coronavirus

A documentary showing how residents of Russia and compatriots are fighting the new virus are going to be shot by the Gorky film studio. The new film will be based on video diaries, the Rossiyskaya Gazeta newspaper writes.

The work on the film with the working title "ViRus" began two weeks ago.

According to the director general of the film studio Yuliana Slashcheva, the creators want to show how the life of the people in Russia and around the world has changed. The filming takes place simultaneously in one and a half dozen countries. Freelancers, doctors, students, restaurant owners are among the characters of the film. All of them, being isolated, talk about events in their lives, feelings and thoughts.

Together with his characters, director Alexei Kobylkov is trying to figure out how the spread of coronavirus forms a new sense of reality and personal space.

Earlier, it became known that the famous director Andrei Konchalovsky is about to begin work on a new documentary. Its working title is “Quarantine in Russian”. Konchalovsky turned to the inhabitants of Russia with a request to become his co-authors. He noted that he would be happy if people who do not live in Russia but speak Russian are participating in the project.

According to the director, today we can observe with our own eyes an amazing sight, we have witnessed a change in the world. He has no doubt that it will take a long time to realize such changes. But it is impossible to miss this chance and not try to fix what was seen and experienced.
