Tretyakov Gallery to show masterpieces selected by users online

The Tretyakov Gallery, which has suspended the passage of visitors due to the spread of the coronavirus infection, will conduct daily online broadcasts from the halls and show works selected by Internet users, TASS reports.

The gallery worked the first day in the new mode on Wednesday, March 18. Previously, it posted messages on the social media saying that it did not want to deprive art lovers of the opportunity to see their favorite paintings and will daily broadcast one of the paintings that users choose.

On the first day of quarantine, the famous picture of Alexander Ivanov “The Appearance of Christ Before the People” was demonstrated, the vote for the second day is in process. Users could choose between the canvases of Ivan Kramskoy and Arkhip Kuindzhi.
