The World of Russian Theater International Festival, which was scheduled to open on June 4 in Paris, will be held in autumn. The decision to postpone the event was caused by the spread of the coronavirus infection.
The festival of Russian-language theaters was included in the program of the Russian Seasons cultural project, TASS reports.
The organizing committee said that the festival’s program included productions of 49 theaters from Europe, Asia, America and Australia. It was planned to show eight performances on Parisian stages. Russian-language theaters from the UK, USA, Italy, France, Canada and other countries were supposed to come to Moscow.
The World of Russian Theater is held for the fourth year, the festival was founded by the Theater magazine and the World of Theater-Goer Foundation. The forum’s expert council includes Russian theater teachers, directors and critics.
The festival’s goal is to popularize Russian theater art abroad and support Russian foreign theaters.
