The Czech Republic is interested in unblocking bilateral relations, RIA Novosti reports. Prague expressed its readiness for negotiations with Russia, and also stated that it was necessary to begin discussion of problematic issues as soon as possible in order to arrive at a pragmatic and balanced decision.

This is stated in a resolution by the country's top leadership after the meeting on Wednesday, March 11. Among its participants are Czech President Milos Zeman, speakers of both houses of parliament, Prime Minister Andrei Babis, as well as heads of foreign policy, defense and some other departments.

The authors of the document believe that bilateral relations remain overly politicized, have limitations in content and in communication channels. In addition, today they are saddled with some technical, administrative and historical topics.

A meeting of the leaders of the two countries will contribute to improving relations, the Czech authorities say. It is planned for May, Milos Zeman accepted the invitation of his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to come to Moscow to celebrate the anniversary of the Victory.
