Novi Sad hosts the Days of Russian Culture

The results of the Days of Russian culture were summed up in Novi Sad (Serbia), the Rossotrudnichestvo website reports. The event is organized by the Russia Association, with the support of the Russian Center for Science and Culture and the Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots. The festival became the eighth in a row. Over the past years, it has become an important event in the cultural life of the city and the region. 

The festival is a prominent part of the program of the International Fair of Books, Education and Art. Its main task is to acquaint residents and visitors of the city with the Russian cultural heritage, draw attention to the traditions of the peoples of Russia, and interest them in learning the Russian language. Days of Russian culture are also aimed at consolidating the Russian-speaking society.

The current festival was dedicated to the anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War, it was included in the program of the Year of Memory and Glory.

In honor of this date, the audience was offered a concert of war songs and the Writer Company exhibition, organized by the Museum of the Dahl History of Russian Literature. 

Master classes, performances by children and youth vocal and dance groups, a presentation of a book on Russian emigrants, and exhibition of Russian applied art were also held during the festival. Guests from Russia also participated in the work of the stand. The Slavic Legends legends exhibition by Anna Atlas drew special attention from the public.

By tradition, the Days of Russian Culture were finished with a performance by St. Roman the Sweet-Singer choir, led by compatriot Evgenia Koyich.
