Russian musician Daniil Trifonov performed on Wednesday, March 4, in the American capital, TASS reports. The famous pianist and composer gave a concert on the stage of the Kennedy Center, Washington's main concert venue. Anatoly Antonov, the head of the Russian diplomatic mission in the US, became the honorary patron of the concert. The concert was organized by the Washington Performing Arts society (WPA), which has been operating for more than fifty years. The society has extensive experience in acquainting US residents with the work of Russian performers.

Daniil Trifonov performed Bach's music. The audience gave the Russian musician such a storm of applause that he had to go out to the public three times and play an encore. Daniil Trifonov has performed in Washington several times. The talent and performing skills of the Tchaikovsky competition winner always delight fans of classical music.

The musician is on a long tour, which in the coming months will take place in American and European cities.

Daniil Trifonov gained fame nine years ago. At the age of twenty, he was awarded the Grand Prix of the Tchaikovsky competition. The award, which was then instituted for the first time, was presented to the musician by maestro Gergiev, who initiated the creation of the competition’s main prize. The pianist participated in the Mariinsky Theater festival projects, its orchestra’s touring trips, and recordings of world-class music albums.

In 2018, Trifonov won the Grammy Award in the Best Classical Instrumental Solo Performance nomination for the Franz Liszt piano transcendental studies.
