A concert with the participation of the Vienna Russian choir and the Kalinka folk ensemble will be held on February 28 at the Russian Center for Science and Culture (RCSC) in Vienna as part of the Maslenitsa celebration. The RCSC has a tradition of presenting the best Russian-speaking creative groups of Austria at concerts within the framework of Maslenitsa and other holidays, the website of the Moscow House of the Compatriot reports.

This time, the groups that have gained fame in Austria and other European countries will perform at the stage of the center. The Vienna Russian choir has been preparing programs for the RCSC for the fourth year.

The team, led by a graduate of the Moscow Conservatory, Ekaterina Maleina, will present works by Russian classical composers. The spiritual works of Rimsky-Korsakov, the famous compositions of Sviridov and other music will be performed during the concert.

The Kalinka ensemble will present a folklore program that will include Russian folk songs, ditties and dances. During the Kalinka concert venue, viewers will learn or recall the traditions associated with the celebration of Maslenitsa.
