Maslenitsa celebration will be held on Sunday, March 1, in many cities in Germany. The program was prepared by organizations of Russian compatriots and Russian schools. Concerts of Russian folklore, traditional festivities with refreshments, as well as Pancake week fun and workshops on baking pancakes and creating Russian souvenirs are planned, according to the Russkoe Pole newspaper.

Pancake week events will take place in Berlin, Frankfurt, Karlsruhe, Nuremberg, Erfurt, Göttingen, Wuppertal and other German cities. Several lessons were dedicated to Maslenitsa in a number of Russian schools in Germany: students got acquainted with Russian traditions, participated in Maslenitsa fun and learned to bake traditional pancakes.

In Berlin, guests will have a colorful walk with hot pancakes and samovar tea. In almost all German cities, admission to Pancake Week events is free. In Frankfurt, folk games and competitions prepared by the staff of the Russian Istok Cultural and Educational Center will take place. In Karlsruhe, a massive dance flash mob will also take place.
