The vote on constitutional amendments will take place on April 22, TASS reports. According to Pavel Krasheninnikov, who holds the post of co-chair of the working group, the corresponding proposal was approved by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The deputy recalled that this day will be a day off. The politician added that the day off will be paid for.

The consideration of amendments to the main law in the second reading is scheduled for March 10. Soon after this, the third reading will be held in the State Duma, then the draft will be transferred to the Federation Council. The deputy is confident that the Russians will have time to get acquainted with all the amendments. The remaining time will also be enough to organize an all-Russian vote.

The document "On improving the regulation of certain issues of the organization of public power" was submitted for consideration by deputies of the State Duma in January. The draftlaw is aimed at developing provisions that enshrines the foundations of the constitutional system, the rights and freedoms of man and citizen.

Among its main provisions is the enshrining at the constitutional level of a ban on foreign citizenship and a residence permit for public servants. The requirements for presidential candidates are also tightened: they must live in Russia for at least 25 years and never have another citizenship. In addition, a clause on two consecutive terms for the President of Russia is excluded.

The State Duma is entrusted not only with coordination, but also with the appointment of members of the government. The Federation Council can get new powers: the head of state will coordinate with the appointment of the heads of law enforcement agencies with it. The Constitutional Court gains the right to check for compliance with the basic law of the country with regional laws. The Constitution establishes the regular indexation of pensions in Russia, as well as the minimum wage not lower than the subsistence level. Some other amendments are also being made.
