The cultural festival of Russia and the countries of Eurasia was held in one of the parks of the Japanese capital. Performance groups from Japan and Russia took part in it. Festival guests could also try Russian dishes at local restaurants. The festival was organized by an association of Japanese students studying Russian. The event was supported by the Embassy of Russia and Rossotrudnichestvo, Interfax reports.

The guests were treated to pancakes, borsch, cabbage rolls and other Russian dishes. Goods from Russia, such as tea, sweets and souvenirs, were on sale during the festival. Visitors also took part in a number of master classes.

According to Russian participants, Russian cuisine is very popular among the Japanese. Most often they buy cabbage rolls, pancakes with honey and strawberries, as well as sea-buckthorn tea. During the holiday, guests gladly bought Russian jam, especially the raspberry one.

The flow of tourists from Japan to Russia is growing. For several years, gastronomic tourism has been actively developing; in Japan, festivals of Russian cuisine are held.
