Russia and Serbia to hold cultural and tourism forum in 2020

The Russian-Serbian cultural and tourist forum can be held this autumn. The expansion of cooperation in the field of tourism was discussed by the participants of the working group on culture and tourism within the framework of the Intergovernmental Russian-Serbian Committee on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, the website of Russia’s Ministry of Culture reports.

Deputy Minister of Culture of Russia Olga Yarilova noted the obvious progress in cooperation between Moscow and Belgrade in the field of tourism, as well as an increase in mutual tourist flow. In 2019, more than one hundred thousand tourists visited Serbia.

The proposal to open the forum came from Russia and was supported by representatives of the Serbian authorities. According to the organizers, the forum will allow introducing representatives of the tourism industry of Serbia and residents of the country with new tourist routes in various regions of Russia.

In addition, Russia expects the forum to move from one-off events to systemic cooperation between Moscow and Belgrade in the tourism sector. Representatives of Serbia proposed to discuss the issues of culture and historical heritage. Cooperation between countries in the field of museum and library affairs were also discussed at the meeting.

At the end of the meeting, Olga Yarilova and the Minister of Culture of Serbia, Vladan Vukosavljević, opened the photo exhibition called The War in Focus. 1941 - 1945, which became the first in a series of Serbian events dedicated to the anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War.
