More than a million trucks crossed the Kerch Strait by the Crimean bridge since its opening, according to RIA Novosti. It took less than a year and a half. The Crimean bridge helped transport companies reduce costs by almost twenty billion rubles. Before the opening of the bridge, one ferry trip cost about twenty thousand rubles per wagon. Travel on the bridge is completely free.

The cargo flow towards the Crimea is four percent more than towards Krasnodar. The movement along the automobile part of the bridge across the Kerch Strait began on May 15, 2018. About twenty thousand cars crossed the strait in the first day after its opening. The capacity of the route reaches thirty-six thousand cars per day.

Cargo transportation along the Crimean bridge helps ensure the supply of goods in both directions - to the mainland and to the peninsula without interruption.

In total, the traffic on both sides has amounted to 8.8 million cars and trucks, motorcycles and buses. More than 170 passenger trains traveled along the railway part.

Russkiy Mir reported that the Russian president Vladimir Putin opened the movement on the railway part of the Crimean bridge on December 23. More than six kilometers of the bridge pass over water, the rest goes over the bay bar and Tuzla Island. The railway is supported by three hundred and seven piers. The bridge consists of two paths so that trains can pass in both directions. The railway part of the Crimean bridge rises smoothly from a height of five meters above sea level and reaches thirty-five meters above the shipping channel. Train tickets for this destination went out of sale long time ago. Freight trains will begin to run along the Crimean bridge next summer. It is planned to launch trains to the cities of Crimea from several more regions by the beginning of the next holiday season.
