About 110 thousand compatriots moved to Russia in 2019

In 2019, almost 110 thousand people moved to Russia within the frameworks of the state program to promote the voluntary resettlement of compatriots from abroad, the website of the Moscow House of Compatriots reports.

Most often, immigrants preferred to go for permanent residence in the Central, Ural and Siberian federal districts. Most of the compatriots moved to the Novosibirsk region - it was chosen by more than 770 thousand people. Chelyabinsk region appealed to about 7,000 immigrants. More than 5,000 compatriots moved to the Tula region. As of the beginning of this year, 86 subjects of the Russian Federation joined the program.

Russkiy Mir reported that the three-year resettlement program for compatriots, which will be in force from 2020 to 2022, will create conditions for the relocation of 197.5 thousand people to Russia. More than 8.4 billion rubles are allocated for these purposes.

The plan consists of several parts. It aims at legal, organizational, managerial, analytical, methodological and information support for the implementation of the state program. The document provides for the development and approval of draft resettlement programs in various regions, projects to amend existing regional programs, the provision of subsidies for co-financing of regional programs, organization of work with compatriots and much more.
