Four Indian cosmonaut candidates began training at the Cosmonaut Training Center. It is reported that the course is designed for a year. As part of the training, the Indians will get acquainted with space technology and learn to work in zero gravity. The Russian and Indian parties signed an agreement on the preparation of Indian astronauts for a space flight last summer, RIA Novosti reported.

The annual training program includes biomedical training, physical fitness and a lecture course. Under the contract, Russian specialists will help the Indians in the selection of pilots and a medical examination.

It is reported that in Russia, Indian pilots will undergo training in artificially created zero gravity and will work out actions in case of emergency landing in different parts of the world.

Russkiy Mir reported that, upon returning from Russia, Indian pilots will continue their training in a special module. The flight of the first Indian crew is scheduled for the end of 2021.
