Tatarstan orchestra performed Russian music in Spain

Thousands of spectators attended concerts of the State Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Tatarstan in four cities of Spain. The orchestra conducted by Alexander Sladkovsky and the world-famous violinist Vadim Repin performed works by Tchaikovsky, Glinka, Mussorgsky and other Russian composers, the Kazan Reporter writes.

The Spanish tour of the orchestra opened in the largest concert hall in Madrid, the concert attracted about two thousand spectators. The audience applauded the musicians of the orchestra, which gained fame in Spain due to past tours, and the skill of Vadim Repin, who played the violin made by Antonio Stradivari.

The concert program was continued in Logrono and Santander, where the orchestra gathered a full house in the main city venues. Representatives of the host party called the concerts of the Russian orchestra the gem of a rich cultural life in Spain.

The tour ended in Vitoria-Gasteiz at the opening of the 15th season of the cycle of Great Concerts, the program of which included performances by famous music groups and soloists from Ireland, Belgium, Portugal and Japan.

Summing up the tour, Alexander Sladkovsky called the tour amazing. According to him, the orchestra managed not only to show their art to the public, but also to see the many beauties of Spain. From February 6 to 8, the Russian conductor will perform in Italy with the orchestra and choir of the National Academy of St. Cecilia. The works of Tchaikovsky and Rimsky-Korsakov will be heard.
