The evenings of Russian Heritage will take place on February 4 and 9 at the New York sports arenas during the matches of the National Hockey League. They will bring together fans, Russian hockey players and other representatives of the Russian community of the United States and Canada. The program includes concerts of Russian folk groups and perfromers and celebrations of anniversaries of important events in the history of Russia, the Coordination Council of the organizations of Russian compatriots of the US wrote on its Facebook page.

On February 4, an evening of Russian heritage is planned at the Barclays Center as part of the match between the New York Islanders and Dallas Stars clubs. On February 9, an event of Russian compatriots will be held in the legendary Madison Square Garden, where the match of the New York Rangers and the Los Angeles Kings will take place. Russian hockey players perform in all of these clubs.

In addition to hockey players, compatriots and their children, representatives of local authorities, the media, and public figures traditionally participate in the events.

The first action of the Russian Heritage took place two years ago. Russian compatriots came up with the idea of uniting representatives of the Russian-speaking community by hockey. In the winter of 2018, the organizers began to conduct the first performances at matches with the participation of Russian hockey players. Russian music is played at the games, and dancers in Russian folk costumes perform in the lobby.
