The Russian Ministry of Defense has posted freely declassified documents regarding the Yalta Conference and preparations for it. The section was opened on the website of the Ministry of Defense on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the meeting in Yalta of US President Franklin Roosevelt, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and the head of the Soviet Union Joseph Stalin, RIA Novosti reported.

The section presents documents from the funds of the central archive of the Ministry of Defense of Russia. In particular, documents and photographs make it possible to trace how the USSR was preparing to receive distinguished guests in the region where hostilities were taking place shortly before the conference — the territory was cleared, infrastructure was restored, and measures were taken to protect conference participants of the ground and from the sky.

The photos that have not been published before were made available on the website - the pictures of the visit of Winston Churchill to the Sapun Mountain, the meeting of guests from the USA and Great Britain with the heroes of the Black Sea.

The publication of secret documents was another step in the work of the Russian Ministry of Defense in combating history rewriting and attempts to revise the results of the Great Patriotic War and World War II.

According to historians, the Yalta Conference was important for the formation of world security after the defeat of fascism, the end of World War II and the creation of the UN.
