The Igor Butman Quintet and the Moscow Jazz Orchestra are going on tour in the United States. The tour begins on Thursday, January 30, in New York. Russian musicians will perform at the Blue Note jazz club, TASS reports.

According to the organizers of the concert, the music of Igor Butman is a jazz bridge that connects Russia and the United States.

The musician himself notes that the orchestra has its own style and intonation. Talented young guitarist Eugene Pobozhiy and pianist Oleg Akkuratov, who previously won very prestigious music competitions, are among the band members.

Igor Butman assured that his jazz band plays exclusively original music. He added that the orchestra retained American jazz traditions and added its own: the repertoire includes works by Sergey Rachmaninov, Russian folk songs and much more, the musician specified. Butman does not believe that jazz can be divided into American or Russian - this music has no nationality.
