First symposium of Russian schools held in London

Representatives of 24 Russian educational institutions operating in the UK gathered in London for a symposium, TASS reports. The Russian embassy hosted the forum. The representatives of Rossotrudnichestvo and Znanie educational center helped to organize the event.
According to the head of the diplomatic mission Andrey Kelin, this symposium is very necessary and useful for all parties. The ambassador noted that it was the first meeting of the educational community in such a format in ten years.

Kelin recalled that Moscow attacheв great importance to the promotion of the Russian language in other countries. The work of teachers helps to fulfill this task. The diplomat added Russian was in the top-10 of the most studied languages with its eighth place.

The head of the Znanie Center Aina Mamaeva is confident that such an event is held on time. The analysis and systematization of the experience of Russian schools abroad is very needed. Now. Participants discussed the prospects and trends of learning the Russian language and other problems. They also raised the question of creating a consortium of Russian schools and centers of further education in the UK.
