Thai troops will be trained at a military academy under the Russian Ministry of Defense. The Thai Cabinet of Ministers approved a draft agreement with Russia on sending Thai cadets to courses in Russia. The project participants will take ten months language courses before going to Russia, according to Vladivostok Daily News.

The project was made possible thanks to Russian president Vladimir Putin, who approved Thailand as a friendly country. According to the representative of the Thai government Ratchada Tanadirek, the draft agreement will be soon signed by a representative of the Thai Armed Forces.

The parties agreed that each year, until January 15, the Thai army leadership will inform Russian colleagues about the educational courses in which the country's Armed Forces are interested. Russia has committed to informing by June 15 which of the proposed courses the military academy will be able to support.
