Russian cinema will be presented at the International Film Festival Rotterdam by Nigina Sayfullaeva’s melodrama Fidelity, TASS reports. The film forum will begin in the Netherlands on January 22. Nigina Sayfullaeva added that the feature would be screened five days after the opening, on January 27.

The director herself called it a great success. According to her, the film crew did not expect the film to be in such a wide distribution.

The main characters of the modern drama are the spouses Lena and Sergey performed by Evgenia Gromova and Alexander Pal. She works as a doctor; he is as a theater actor. The wife suffers from jealousy, as she suspects her husband of infidelity. The film was released in Russia in the fall.

Fidelity received a special jury diploma for "the unlimited faith of actors in the director" at the Kinotavr Film Festival.

The Rotterdam Festival is one of the largest European film forums. It has been held for almost fifty years and is aimed at supporting alternative and non-profit films. Six years ago, director Oksana Bychkova received one of the main prizes for her feature Another Year.
