The tour of the St. Petersburg State Academic Leonid Yacobson Ballet Theatre is held in France, TASS reports. The winter performances in this European country have been a tradition for the theater for several years. This year the tour was included in the Russian Seasons project.

Frejus became the first stop on the tour. The open-air performance of the Nutcracker by Pyotr Tchaikovsky took place there. This tale is considered the most popular Christmas story in the world. Young and adult residents of nine French cities - Reims, Lyon, Montague and others - will also be able to get acquainted with it.

Excerpts from The Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker will be presented to the public in Soissons, Thionville, Merignac.

Performances of Russian dancers in France will continue until mid-February.

Russkiy Mir reported that the program of the international Russian Seasons festival in France would comprise about two hundred and seventy events. They will cover almost sixty-five cities. In the coming year, France expects a large-scale presence of Russian culture. In addition, in 2021, Russia and France will hold the Cross Year of Regional Cooperation.
