Songs in Russian, English and French will be performed at concerts of the legendary Alexandrov Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian Army in Montreal. The series of performances starts on December 26 and lasts until December 30, according to the press service of organizations of Russian compatriots of Canada.

The tour is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the famous choir, which will present the program of the best works in the history of the team. By tradition, the ensemble will sing some songs in the language of the host country – for Monreal, it will be English and French.

A joint performance of the Russian ensemble with the popular Canadian country singer Isabelle Boulay is also on the program. Fans of the French singer Mireille Mathieu recall that in 1961 it was the Alexandrov ensemble that helped the 15-year-old singer to make a breakthrough - after a concert with the Moscow team, Mathieu’s name was on the pages of the quality newspapers.

The Alexandrov ensemble is known to the Canadian public under the name the Chorus of the Red Army; its performances in one of the largest halls in Montreal have become a cultural event in the life of the city. Both Canadians and Russian compatriots living in Montreal plan to attend concerts.

The Russian community recalls the words of one of the Soviet ambassadors, who said many years ago that one concert of the Alexandrov ensemble could do more for the relations of the countries than the efforts of a hundred diplomats.
