The Mariinsky Theater ballet troupe has arrived to Baden-Baden, Germany, for its traditional performance before the New Year and Christmas holidays, the website of the Ministry of Culture reports.

As usual, the German public will meet with the music of the great Tchaikovsky. Residents and guests of Baden-Baden will see The Nutcracker performed by the famous troupe and choreographed of Vasily Vayonen. The Sleeping Beauty ballet extravaganza in the classical production of Marius Petipa and edited by Konstantin Sergeyev is also on the program.

The tour program will be complemented by George Balanchine's Jewels. The production is brought to Germany for the first time. Previously, the German public saw only one of the three parts of the play - the Diamonds ballet.

According to the acting head of the ballet troupe Yuri Fateev, the cast can be called brilliant. The most famous ballet dancers of the Mariinsky Ballet will enter the stage, including Alina Somova, Renata Shakirova, Xander Parish and Vladimir Shklyarov.

The young generation of dancers will demonstrate their art and skill: Maria Bulanova, May Nagahisa, Anastasia Nuikina, Daria Ionova.

Conductors Gurgen Petrosyan and Gavriel Heine will direct the Mariinsky Theater Symphony Orchestra.

Yuri Fateev expressed hope that the audience would be satisfied. He recalled that many spectators for many years went to Baden-Baden before the New Year just to see the performance of the Mariinsky Ballet.
