Russian compatriots in Tunisia organize Slavic fair

Russian compatriots living in Tunisia have organized the Slavic Fair. An event of this kind took place for the first time, it is dedicated to the New Year celebrations. The fair was organized by the Russian Heritage Association the website of the World Coordinating Council of Organizations of Russian Compatriots stated.

Immigrants from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Bulgaria, the Baltic republics presented their work to the people of Tunisia. The audience warmly welcomed the products of folk art - jewelry, decor items, paintings, natural cosmetics and much more. Tasting of dishes of traditional Russian cuisine was also popular with the visitors.

Father Frost and his granddaughter Snegurochka wished happy New Year to both children and adults at the fair. A concert was also held where music groups of compatriots performed Russian folk songs and dances. The return gift was the performance of Tunisian children's groups.

The young visitors enjoyed the workshop, where everyone could create their own nesting dolls and play chess. A charity event was held as part of the event. Russian Heritage has already outlined other events for 2020 that would strengthen partnerships between public associations of Russian compatriots with other organizations and communities in Tunisia, Russia and abroad.
