RSL teachers take part in pedagogical forum in Sofia

The teaching forum called Philological and Sociocultural Problems of Russian Studies was held in Sofia. It is organized by Herzen Russian State Pedagogical University with the participation of the Russian language department of Sofia University and supported by the Ministry of Education of Russia, Rossotrudnichestvo, the Bulgarian National Network of Teachers of Russian Language and Culture and the Institute of National Remembrance.

The conference was attended by over two hundred and fifty people. Teachers of Russian from various Bulgarian cities came to Sofia. They were joined by participants from Macedonia, Georgia, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, and other countries. Kindergarten teachers, students, teachers of higher and secondary educational institutions, methodologists, scientists, heads of educational institutions were among them.

The participants were able to exchange their experience, discuss new ideas, and find a solution to pressing problems. The forum also examined key issues of teaching the Russian language and literature in Bulgaria and issues of promoting Russian culture and literature abroad.

The leading Russian scholars in the field of theory and methods of teaching Russian as a second language and the founders of the scientific school on intercultural communication in Russia addressed the guests.
