Mosfilm studio shows Soviet cinema classics in Brazil

Twelve Soviet and Russian features have been included in the film screening program organized by the Mosfilm film studio in São Paulo (Brazil). The program of film screenings, which are being held in São Paulo for the sixth time, opened with a masterpiece of Russian and world cinema Ballad of a Soldier by Grigory Chukhrai. The film was shown in Russian with Portuguese subtitles, according to the Moscow House of the Compatriot.

The Consul General of Russia in São Paulo Yuri Lezgintsev and representatives of Russian and Brazilian organizers welcomed the guests and organizers. The film screenings of Mosfilm are popular among compatriots living in Brazil and Brazilians. The Ballad of a Soldier gathered more than three hundred spectators. As part of the opening ceremony, guests were treated to dishes of Russian cuisine.

The screening of six Russian and Soviet films earlier took place at the BRICS Film Festival in Niterói city. The program included features by contemporary Russian directors and the Marlen Khutsiev’s famous feature It was the month of May.
