Events and actions dedicated to the centennial of the Russian emigration will cover Russia and many other countries, where emigrants, who left their homeland after the October Revolution, ended up. Among them are Bulgaria, Turkey, Serbia, Tunisia and many other states that have become the second home for Russian compatriots, the Rossotrudnichestvo website reports.

The centenary of the end of the Civil War will be celebrated in Russia and the world in November 2020. In the fall of 1920, the last ships of the squadron of the Imperial Black Sea Fleet left Crimea and Sevastopol. Almost one hundred and fifty thousand people left Russia back then.

According to the head of Rossotrudnichestvo Eleanora Mitrofanova, this topic is so important that it should not be limited to one year. Various educational events will take place over the next three years.

The theme of the contribution of Russian emigrants to the development of science and culture of other countries will also be highlighted during the events.

The adviser to the head of the Union of Museums of Russia Sergey Korneev states that museums are actively submitting their proposals. He is confident that these initiatives can become the basis of a separate cultural program.

A historical and educational conference has already taken place in Tunisia. It was dedicated to preserving historical memory and strengthening the connection of generations. Next year, the Russian-Tunisian Business Council will organize an international competition for young people called Marine Heritage of Russia.

It is also proposed to devote the Livadia Forum to the Russian emigration.
