The scientific and humanitarian From Knowledge to Action forum, which takes place in Moscow, brought together dozens of scientists from different countries, the Kultura TV channel reports. Scientists from France, Austria, Britain, Italy are among them.

The conference program includes seven round tables, where participants discuss current issues of the development of humanitarian knowledge. One of the central venues of the forum was the Russian Academy of Sciences.

According to the head of the Institute of World History of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the head of the organizing committee of the conference Alexander Chubaryan, participants discuss culture, science, education, diplomacy and religion. The creative and destructive potential of science is the most important topic of discussion. Hermitage Director General Mikhail Piotrovsky spoke about the mission of the universal museum and the “culture of memory”.

The speech of the head of Rospechat Mikhail Seslavinsky was dedicated to the reading culture in the world of digital technology. All modern scientists, he is convinced, are wondering in what direction we are moving. How the old world will change in the era of digital technology, how the humanitarian component will change, and in particular - what will happen to the book and reading. “We see that there is a struggle for a person’s free time,” he added. University of Pisa professor Stefano Gardzonio studies the contribution of Russian emigrants to European culture. He is sure that Russian culture is very important for the development of all mankind.
