Residents of Argentina got a rare opportunity to get acquainted with Russian cinema, TASS reported. The Week of Russian cinema began in Buenos Aires. Almost a dozen works of Russian directors were included in the program.

According to Dmitry Davidenko, who heads the festival, the organizers tried to draw up a program in such a way as to demonstrate the best that was filmed in Russia over the past two years. Many of the films have won awards at Russian and international film forums.

Coach by Danila Kozlovsky was chosen as the opening film. The director himself played the main role. The feature was presented to the audience by one of the leading actresses, Irina Gorbacheva.

The program also includes the Oscar-nominated Beanpole by the young director Kantemir Balagov, Bolshoi by Valery Todorovsky and Arrhythmia by Boris Khlebnikov.

Tomorrow, Alexander Pal will present the feature About Love. For Adults Only. The program of the Week of Russian Cinema will be supplemented by the fantastic drama Rough Draft based on the novel of the same name by science fiction writer Sergei Lukyanenko. Young viewers will be invited to the cartoon Fixies. Big Secret.

Davidenko noted that in Argentina, Russian cinema was very poorly known, since there were practically no Russian films in the wide distribution box. He expressed hope that local viewers would find interesting topics for themselves.
