The festival of Russian culture was held in Uganda, according to the website of the Moscow House of the compatriot. An outdoor scene was set on the shores of Lake Victoria. The organizer was the Coordination Council of Russian Compatriots with the help of the Russian Embassy.

According to the head of the Russian diplomatic mission Alexander Polyakov, the importance of such actions cannot be overestimated. They are especially needed by compatriots who live in this African country, since it is difficult for them to join the Russian culture.

There were many locals among the public. The diplomat hopes that festivals will eventually become an annual tradition. They will contribute to the development of motivation to learn the Russian language, increase interest in our country. All this will help strengthen bilateral relations in the field of culture.

Guests from Russia performed at the festival. The folklore group Vertograd performed Russian folk melodies. The visit to Uganda was organized by the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in Ethiopia.

The festival program included a fair, a photo exhibition, a charity lottery, competitions, dances and songs.
