First exhibition of Russian universities opened in Sofia

An exhibition of Russian universities has opened in the capital of Bulgaria for the first time, TASS reports. Twelve leading higher educational institutions of Russia presented their educational programs in the building of the Russian Cultural and Information Center. Among them are educational institutions of Moscow, Rostov-on-Don, St. Petersburg, Samara, Lipetsk, Orel and Ivanovo.

The exhibition raised great interest among potential applicants from Bulgaria. They were especially interested in the opportunity to study in Russia at the expense of the federal budget. Representatives of Russian educational institutions talked to Bulgarian citizens about the areas of study, the conditions of student life and leisure, the nuances and advantages of getting an education in Russia. University presentations attracted the attention of local educators interested in exchanging experiences with Russian specialists.

Advanced training courses have been organized for Bulgarian teachers of Russian by Rossotrudnichestvo and Moscow State Pedagogical University. Seminars, thematic presentations and master classes have been prepared and open to everyone.

Russian Ambassador to Bulgaria Anatoly Makarov noted the steady demand in the Balkan country for education in Russia. According to him, the embassy in every way promotes cooperation between the two countries in this area. Bulgarian students are credited to the budget places of Russian universities for the sixth year in a row, this year there are 225 of them. Bulgarian educational institutions are very interested in bilateral cooperation, the opportunity to educate students with Russian partners in master's programs.
