The Higher School of Economics (HSE) has gained the highest positions among Russian universities in three subject ratings according to the British Times Higher Education (THE) magazine. HSE is included in the top 100 universities in the world in the ranking of business and law, and the university also entered the top 200 in social sciences and law, TASS reports. In the fourth subject ranking of THE, Education, Kazan Federal University became first. It was also included in the list of one hundred of the best universities.

According to HSE representatives, the university has risen in the international ranking due to the growing reputation of teaching and scientific researchers among foreign scientists, as well as an increase in the number of publications and citing scientific papers. The university noted that the HSE became more active in conducting international conferences and expanded its interaction with foreign scientists and teachers, who were also invited to teach.

This October it became known about the launch of the first English-language online master's program in Russia at the HSE. According to representatives of the university, the innovation will be another step towards turning the HSE into a global university, in addition, online master's programs will help promote Russian higher education in the world.
