Residents of Yekaterinburg took part in the festival of national poetry. An international karaoke battle, national games and workshops on folk dances and the manufacture of amulets were held in Izhevsk. In Samara, about two thousand people came to the start of the We are United by Running half-marathon.

The On the Same Land! festival and tournament on historical fencing took place in Severodvinsk. Citizens were invited to plunge into the atmosphere of 9th – 12th centuries.

This holiday is one of the youngest, the country celebrates it for the fourteenth time. It is dedicated to the events of 1612, when Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky gathered a people's militia and drove the Poles out of Moscow. Historically, the holiday is associated with the end of the Time of Troubles in Russia in the seventeenth century, it has become a symbol of the unity of the people and their ability to unite in difficult periods. Later, November 4 in the church calendar was the day of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God - the patroness of the militias.
