Academic cooperation is one of the most important communication channels in relations between Russia and Germany, the head of the State Duma Committee on Education and the chairman of the board of the Russkiy Mir Foundation Vyacheslav Nikonov said. He also holds the post of dean of the faculty of public administration of Lomonosov Moscow State University, according to the website of the university. According to the politician, cooperation in the field of scientific research is especially important today, since many other areas of cooperation have been almost blocked due to the complicated situation in the international arena.

Nikonov added that Moscow was very interested in having succeeded in creating a common agenda not only with Germany, but also with the European Union. It should include issues of control over the proliferation of nuclear weapons, joint measures in the field of climate change, the fight against international terrorism and many others.

Nikonov spoke about this during his speech at the opening ceremony of the international scientific and educational program. It is implemented by Lomonosov Moscow State University and University of Applied Labor Studies, which operates in German Manheim.

The program involves sixteen students and four teachers on each side. They will listen to lectures, take part in trainings and workshops on comparative analysis of modern trends in the development of labor markets in Germany and Russia. The program is designed until the end of the school year.
