The state visit of the Russian president Vladimir Putin to the United Arab Emirates has been very eventful, TASS reports. During the visit, several agreements were signed in the field of energy and investment.

Let us remember, the negotiations with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the UAE Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan became the main event of the program. The Russian leader discussed with him issues of developing cooperation in trade and the economy, as well as strengthening cooperation in the investment sphere.

The official ceremony of the meeting turned out to be very spectacular. The car in which the head of state was traveling was accompanied by riders holding the flags of both countries. Destroyers flew over the motorcade and brightened the sky with Russian tricolor.

Putin noted that relations of Russia with the UAE were characterized by sustainable development. According to him, they can be called friendly and constructive. Political dialogue is also developing. The Russian leader drew attention to the steady growth of cooperation in trade, economy and culture. The trade turnover between the Russian Federation and the UAE exceeded one and a half billion dollars last year. In addition, the Emirates are a sought-after holiday destination for Russian tourists. Tourist flow in 2018 increased by almost a quarter, Putin added.

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi called the Russian leader his friend and brother and said that he considered Russia his second home. He is also confident that the desire to raise cooperation to the level of strategic partnership is mutual.

Another important topic was the interaction in space exploration. Moscow was ready to continue working with the UAE in this area, Putin added. He congratulated the UAE leadership on the successful flight of the first astronaut Khazaa al-Mansouri to the ISS.

Note that the flight into space of the first representative of the Emirates attracted a huge interest to the space theme from the local population and sharply increased the number of people wishing to learn the Russian language. Residents of the UAE want to try their hand at space and see an opportunity for this in the Russian language.
