More than 50 Russian publishers represented at Frankfurt Book Forum

More than fifty publishers will be united under the Russian stand at the Book Fair in Frankfurt am Main, according to the site of the Year of Literature. The book forum, which is considered the most important in the world, opens on Wednesday, October 16. It gathers thousands of publishers from many countries every year, the number of visitors reaches three hundred thousand people.

The Russian exhibition consists of new editions of the works of classics of Russian literature, books by contemporary authors, books for studying the Russian language, publications on geography and history, albums on art and political studies. An exposition dedicated to the centennial of Daniel Granin and the 75th anniversary of the Victory will also take place.

The Institute of Translation will present the books by Russian authors translated into foreign languages. Presentation of the 37th World Congress of the International Council on the Children's Book (IBBY) will also be held at the Russian stand. Next year Moscow will be hosting it. Another presentation will be dedicated to books that won in various categories of the Read Russia Award.

Russian writers and their colleagues from Europe will take part in round tables, where the main topic of discussion will be issues of great importance for the life of European society - the 80th anniversary of the start of World War II and the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Russian literature this year will be represented in Frankfurt  by Alexey Ivanov, Roman Senchin, Alexey Salnikov, Inga Kuznetsova, Yaroslav Pulinovich, Oleg Shishkin, Alexey Makushinsky and Guzel Yakhina.

After the fair, the books will be handed over to Russian diplomatic missions.
