The events on the occasion of the next anniversary of the so-called Ukrainian rebel army are another striking manifestation of neo-Nazi sentiments and xenophobia in Ukraine, Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs states. The day before, the radicals held processions in Kiev under fascist symbols. They were accompanied by aggressive slogans and glorifications of Nazi accomplices.

It is unfortunate that in modern Ukraine such actions are no longer surprising, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs notes.

Neo-Nazis also put forward a demand for the country's leadership to abandon the agreements of the "Norman format" and not to comply with the "Steinmeier formula". There were open calls for civil disobedience and "a war with Russia to the bitter end."

Unfortunately, neither official Kiev, nor international organizations are in a hurry to evaluate such manifestations of neo-Nazism. Moreover, the head of the Ukrainian government Andrey Goncharuk greeted the audience and participants of the concert of the Ukrainian neo-Nazi rock band, held on the eve of the processions.

Speeches of neo-Nazis do not cause a reaction from the Western patrons of Ukraine, Russian diplomats emphasize. They recalled that a similar course aimed at playing with extremists is fraught with dangerous consequences.

The Foreign Ministry appealed to the UN, OSCE and the Council of Europe to give an assessment of such neo-Nazi actions and encourage Kiev to counteract such trends, fulfill obligations for a peaceful settlement in the Donbass and respect the fundamental rights and freedoms of all members of multinational Ukrainian society.
