Month of Russian culture in Riyadh opened with exhibition of Kandinsky

The month of Russian culture started in Riyadh on October 14, RIA Novosti reported. Its program includes Kandinsky and Russia exhibition. It presents about two dozen works by Vasily Kandinsky, one of the founders of the Russian avant-garde. Masterpieces is brought to Saudi Arabia by the Russian Museum. The exhibition also includes several paintings of the artist’s early period, when Kandinsky was greatly influenced by the art of the Russian North. The exhibition is complemented by several works of the "revolutionary" period.

An exposition, which consists of works created using artificial intelligence from the most unusual modern materials, is also presented in Saudi Arabia. Among the exhibits are the works of artists from ten countries, including the famous Russian physicist, Nobel laureate Konstantin Novoselov, who is the author of the painting entitled Time.

The focus of the public will be a painting by Russian artist Alexandra Sukhareva and Saudi artist Nasser Alshemimri. It is fully consistent with the main objective of the exhibition - to strengthen the dialogue of cultures and trust between countries.

Note, the program of the Festival of Russian culture would also include a concert of outstanding opera singers and the Tchaikovsky Orchestra, who would perform works by Russian classics Rimsky-Korsakov and Borodin. In addition, there will be screenings of famous Soviet and Russian features and animated films and light shows.

Russkiy Mir reported, that the festival was timed to the visit of President of Russia Vladimir Putin to Riyadh.
